For a long time Costa Rica has done much to preserve their rain forests and are now turning their attention to their beaches.
Just to name a few; Jaco, Quepos, Manual Antonio, Puntarenas, Playa Conchal, Playas de Coco, Playa Hermosa, Playa Tamarindo and many others, are where the complete tourist can come and play to their hearts content.
In a lot of areas you can actually walk from one beach to the other, and it?s still possible to find small sand beaches with cocos palms where you can have privacy or share it with your family.
It is clear that Costa Rica is highly invested in maintaining their beaches. You can always find a waste basket near by and tests have been done on both the sea water and the drinking water to keep it all clean and safe.
Tourism is not the only good thing happening in Costa Rica right now; Real Estate has really taken off, especially beach property! Beach houses, condos and hotels are popping up out of nowhere since land prices are being sold right now for fantasy sums!
This can clearly be seen when looking at Puntarenas, one of the beaches closest to San Jose. While the beaches here have not been hugely popular, their value has increased as it is only a two hour drive from the capital, San Jose. Some high class resort hotels like the Fiesta Resort (All-Inclusive) can even be found there now!
The kinds of beaches that attract surfers are usually the most beautiful and the cheapest. This is due to the fact that the great waves are so enticing that there is less interest in just swimming or relaxing which ultimately makes the beach less interesting for the common tourist.
Do not miss the beaches like Playa Hermosa, Playa Manuel Antonio (with its 3 beaches and protected forest) and if time allows go to the east coast (Caribbean side) and beaches like Cahuita and Playa Puerto Viejo when visiting Costa Rica! The beaches at Costa Rica are first rate and are not to be missed! They are beautiful, gorgeous and enticing! Visiting any beach will be sure to spice up your vacation!
