After traveling the world and writing about what I see, it is clear that Costa Rica is the last paradise on earth! It is a place where you can easily unwind from a busy and hectic schedule and take in all the beauty it has to offer.
Costa Rica is the ultimate destination, and not just for vacationers. While it is a small country, about 50,000 square kilometers between the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean it is large in its options. It is a country that is great for retirees and ecotourists alike, as it has no military, no nuclear power plants and the highest literacy rate in North America. My personal favorite is that there is no winter and is abundant with culture.
Costa Rica literally has something to offer everyone. It is a hot spot for a honeymoon, adventure touring, hiking, surfing, rafting, fishing and much more.
For example you can take guided mountain tours, partake in some of the best bird watching in the world, rainforest canopy tours, whitewater rafting, wind surfing, and fly fishing tours. If you are there to enjoy your wedding or honeymoon then there are several packages to choose from, all offering a relaxing and romantic trip. Places not to miss are Tortuguero, Drake Bay, Corcovado, Puerto Viejo Sarapiqui and Cahuita at the Caribbean Coast or Playa Flamingo, Gulf of Papagayo, Playa Hermosa, Potrero, Conchal, Tamarindo and Langosta at the Northern Pacific.
--- Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica - "Region of the Turtles" ---
This small enchanting village lies on the northeastern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. It offers a region surrounding Tortuguero that is called the Tortuguero Plain, which is a vast low lying area of little topographic relief that is still covered by a large expanse of tropical rainforest, and should not be missed!
--- Drake Bay - MANGROVE AND BIRD ISLAND TOURS ---
Upon visiting Drage Bay you will encounter the most remote and natural setting in Costa Rica. It offers great accommodations, an abundance of wildlife and friendly people who help make it a memorable place to visit. If you are an outdoor adventurer, then this is the place for you! There is fantastic hiking, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking, and sunbathing!
--- Playa Conchal ---
Located 2 kms from Playa Brasilito, Playa Brasilito and Conchal make up a unit separated by the rock headlands of Punta Conchal. It gets its name from the fact that the sand is made up of millions of crunched shells that create a rare environment near the 1.5 km long beach. Even some ear trees can be spotted. It is one of the most valued attractions as the beaches are literally drenched in sunshine.
For Travelers:
This Costa Rican paradise offers everything you could be looking for. If however you are traveling here for the first time it is important to learn the entry requirements from consulates, embassies and travel agencies.
Costa Rican Climate and Weather
You will not find better weather than in Costa Rica! It offers one of the best climates in the world. Similar to other tropical environments Costa Rica experiences only two seasons, wet and dry, verses the four seasons of a temperate region. Their summer, verano, last from about December to April. Their winter, invierno, can be wet and occurs the rest of the year. It is during their winter that you can find their Green Season, which is rain in the afternoon. Leaving of course the rest of the day to be enjoyed! Even during their ?worst? season, there are still at least five hours of sunshine.
If you are a savvy traveler looking for a discount, then some hotels, tour operators and car rental outfits offer green season (May-November) discounts.
At the end of your trip, I can guarantee you that you will have fallen in love with this fascinating country that offers an endless amount of beauty!
Just a few of the experiences awaiting you: Flora and Fauna Tours, National Parks, Volcanoes, Rainforests, Dry Tropical and Cloud Forests, Wilderness Lodges, Surfing, Wind Surfing on Lake Arenal, one of the world's top five wind surfing spots, Deep Sea and Inshore Fishing (Sailfish, Marlin, Roosterfish, Mahi-Mahi, Yellow-fin Tuna, Grouper Tarpon and Wahoo), Freshwater Fishing for local rainbow bass, Scuba diving, Snorkeling, Whitewater rafting, Canopy Tree-top rides, Arial Trams, Sky-walks on Hanging Bridges or Souvenir shopping in one of the popular craft towns.
Enjoy the incredible stay you are bound to have when visiting the last paradise on Earth!!!
