Volcanoes, Hot Springs, Mud Baths and Waterfalls

Never seen a volcano explode? Well now?s your chance to check it out at Arenal volcano. After the exploding show, you can check out the shops and great galleries on the road side. Lake Arenal is a beautiful 22 mile long lake that is fantastic for great freshwater fishing, as it?s home to the hard-hitting rainbow bass, or quapote: in fact five to six pounders are common. Bathing in the pools of thermal waters among tropical gardens at the Arenal Volcano National Park cannot be skipped. Even those more interested in sports can be satisfied when windsurfing one of the premier windsurfing destinations in the world. The wind is constant as the area has irregular topography, making for fantastic windsurfing conditions.

Located at the foot of the Volcano Rincon de la Vieja are thermal waters, steam waters and baths and a natural spa. At the bottom of the falls are located beautiful natural swimming pools.

Surfing

Incredible swells of activity can be found in the fantastic Pacific Northwest Guanacaste Coast, the waves offer something for every level of surfer. Welcoming surfers from around the world is the Playa Tamarindo, and even more surfing can be found a mere 25-minute boat ride from El Coco to Witches Rock where you can either watch or join the experts.

Scuba diving and Snorkeling

The North Pacific waters in Costa Rica offer divers varied and plentiful marine life. Schools of thousands of small fish, tropical colorful fish, Jacks, Barracudas, Eels Eagle Rays, white-tip Reef Sharks and many more exotic fish can be spotted. Nearby reefs and islands offer even more colorful displays of marine life. Playa Hermosa is a perfect spot for beginners where you can take classes in a pool and practice with a certified master diver. Diving anytime of the years is great, due to the abundance of plankton and other marine organisms at the lower end of the food chain that thrive in the warm tropical waters. Visibility is incredible as it ranges from 30? to 50? and even 80?

Golfing

What was life like as a golfer before hassling with tee times? Well in Costa Rica there are numerous golf courses to choose from that all provide a hassle free way to golf.
