I am pretty sure that you are one of the thousands of people who have watched in horror or disgust as a helpless little puppy was sent by a US Marine flying down a cliff. I know it has aroused in you a troubling question on how someone sane can engage in something so horrific and meaningless as that. What makes it more horrendous is the fact that this was recorded on video and published for even your little kids to see.
As the anger mellows and as your disgust wanes, your eyes are obviously opened to two things. First, that animals are no exemption as victims of wars. Second, that our our men and women sent to Iraq to fight the war on Terror, could be subject to stress and pressures we only can imagine. The truth about the situation is that you don't have to take sides. You don't have to decide whether this guy who goes by the name of Motari was forgivable or whether he should be punished. If one looks at the vantage point of all involved, everyone is a victim in this story. You will probably disagree. I will doubt that though, if you have a son risking his life in the military and if you were receiving death threats suddenly for a wrong decision he made on an impulse. Worse, I don't think you will doubt that if you were a puppy, forced to forage for the next available meal in a land ravaged by war.
We at Costa Rica Consultants do not take sides; or rather, we take both. Much has been said of the matter and to not add more injury to both parties, here are two videos that we think sums up the "after feelings" we have on the matter. We just hope this event serves as a learning experience for everyone. a lesson on the sanctity of life and the destruction brought about by the wars we fight.
